Trailer: El Camino del Vino, Starring Michel Rolland

El Camino del Vino tells the story of real-life Uruguayan sommelier Charlie Arturaola, one of the top sommeliers in the US, who loses his palate while presenting Mendoza’s Masters of Food & Wine Awards. The film, which will be shown as part of the 5th annual Culinary Cinema programme at Berlin, charts his journey of re-discovery, seeking advice from Rolland – who tells him to ‘go back to the vineyard’ – and other key figures in the international wine circuit.

El Camino del Vino, written and directed by Argentinian film maker Nicolas Carreras, won FIPRESCI (Federacion Internacional de la Prensa Cinematografica) at last November’s Mar de Plata film festival in Argentina

Press Release: Big Wave Surfer Mark Visser Makes History

Jaws, MAUI (January 20, 2011)—This morning at 2:00am local Hawaii time, professional big wave surfer Mark Visser made history by achieving a night ride on waves measuring 30-40 foot faces off the shores of Maui with specially engineered LED lights built into a buoyancy vest and modified into the surfboard. The lighting technologies were created especially for the project by Solus Corporation using ground breaking NASA submarine lighting to ensure the wave and board were lit in the right places, at the right time and illuminated the wave without hindering the vision of Visser, the jet ski drivers and the helicopter pilots.
Coined “The Night Rider,” this feat is set to be the first of a series for Visser. These “world first” extreme adventures will form a documentary collective called “9 Lives” that will be distributed internationally in late 2011, early 2012.

Banksy to be Identified via Ebay Auction

Guerrilla artist Banksy, for so long “camouflaged” and anonymous, is about to be identified in a very public show and tell. His real name will be leaked to the highest bidder by means of an Ebay auction ending tomorrow at 07:22:22 PST. A previous attempt by the whistleblower was cancelled by Ebay as is was deemed that he was not selling something tangible. Lo and behold, it is now tangible and already has 38 bids.
The seller states, “If you win this auction I will mail you a piece of paper revealing the true identity of “Banksy”. I have uncovered his identity by matching up the prices of his sold pieces to corresponding tax records. I will reveal no more details. The winner of this auction is the only person I will ever share this information with. The piece of paper will say his name, nothing more. I give you 100% assurance that it is most certainly the full name of the street artist known as “Banksy”.
Its hard to tell whether this is a veritable listing or an attempt to fleece some poor sod to the tune of $1 000 000 but according to Ebay, the seller has a positive record dating back to 2001. Mmmh, makes me think of the time the Eiffel Tower was sold… twice!
